The CT doctor just called. He is going to set up an appointment with a surgeon to discuss just removing the appendix. He doesn't like playing the waiting game with an appendix. Then he called right back to say he also wants to set me up for an ultra sound because of the thickening endometrial stripe (it could represent hyperplasia or malignancy)and they need to get a better look at it. Cheryl is not a happy camper right now.
At least they want to be sure. Hang in there. Removal sounds like the best bet. My wife had pain at two in the AM, went in, they removed it and she came home the same day.

The only reason I am asking- I none till age 61 (except for the first cataract surgery at 59- since age 61 I have had 5 all planned except the last which was an emergency- if you have time(none emergency) they always want a workup first -even with diagnosed breast cancer.

I'm assuming she had the noninvasive surgery. Sounds good to me. I talk to the surgeon at 1:00 today so we'll see. I'm pushing for removing it.

Be strong, dear lady, hugs. Di Those hugs felt good. I'm the first person to tell someone to be strong and not to worry until you find out something. But I woke up this morning scared shitless about the results I will get today for the ultrasound. I guess I'm a do as I say and not as I do type person.

At least they want to be sure. Hang in there. I'm lucky that I'm in the Duke system. They get tests done fast. I have a friend that is still trying to find out what is wrong with her and it's been a year and 3 months. When they make appointments for her tests they are months away. That just isn't right. All of mine are within a 7 day period. I really do love Duke and they way they work.
I start my prep today for the colonscopy tomorrow. I really hate the prep (liquid diet, dulcolax laxative, miralax and having to drink an 8 ounce glass of the foul stuff every 10 to 15 minutes until it's gone). Then 4 hours before I leave for the procedure I mix magnesium citrate with a clear liquid and drink all of it.
But the drugs you get for the procedure make it all worth it. LOL

She had an incision about an inch long (35 years ago), nothing like they used to do or what is required if the appendix has burst.

The last 2 times had the procedure it was in free standing clinic - I was not asleep- light sedation -the first time in the hospital I was completely out- you wake up and say when are they going to start ? 3 comedians Martin Short,Steve Martin and another guy have made a party out of Colonoscopy- they gather at Steve's house -play poker & take their laxatives. You might want to get some of those protective chux's pads in case you don't makeit quickly to the bathroom- saves the floor- you probably will not have any problem- just me.

I am so pissed. The reason for the ultrasound was to look at thickening of the endometrium of my uterus. They couldn't see them because of uterine fibroids. Now it's being rescheduled with a GYN doctor to be done again. But I did have the consult today with the appendix surgeon and they are going to go ahead and remove it next month some time.
